Softball Defensive Drills – Stopping Base Stealing

Softball defensive drills used to be one of the biggest weaknesses in my repertoire.  But I was able to turn it around by using this idea sent in from Anthony.Softball Defensive Drills

Here is a great idea that I have my kids practice over and over.

This softball drill will make kids more aware of how to prevent a guy on third from stealing home when there is a runner on first trying to stealing second.

Have your pitcher throw the ball to the catcher then to the shortstop who is playing on the infield grass. He will throw it to the catcher to make the play at home or to prevent the runner from scoring.  Have two other members of the team play the base runners.

Do this for about 10 to 15 minutes.
