From Jerry…
One thing that we have been doing in our indoor practices is taking [tag]ground balls[/tag] with a tennis ball with the coach using a tennis racquet.

Using a racquet seems to keep the players more honest as it is harder not to cheat to either side to get a jump on the ball. The tennis ball is great for developing soft hands, and a variety of bounces for the players to field.

From Coach Gibson…

Indoor [tag]drill[/tag]: We use for our [tag]infielders[/tag] – Quick Reaction Time

Have player stand about 8 to 10 feet from cement wall or anything that will bounce a ball back.   Incrediballs work best.   Stand behind the player and throw the ball over player’s shoulder at the wall.   The ball bounces back.   Player reacts to the ball.

The closer the player gets to the wall the quicker the reaction time needs to be.
