You can use the double tee to work on the inside zone of the pitch, or hitting the Inside Pitch. In this softball hitting drill using the double tee, the tee closest to the hitter is placed right around the middle of the plate. The taller tee is placed out in front to bring contact out towards the front, simulating the inside pitch.
If the hitter has a tendency to cast out, or wrist extend too soon, she will end up hitting the back tee instead of the front tee.
The main focus in this drill is on hitting the front of ball — not hooking around the outside of the ball.
Softball Hitting Tip!
Stay short in the stride phase, compact with the arms and keep your hands inside the path of the ball, and you will hit for power, turning on that inside pitch and keeping it fair.
