Coaching Softball DrillsThe inspiration for these [tag]coaching softball drills[/tag] came from two of my subscribers. I’ve included their ideas for you to use with your teams.   Try them out and let me know what you think!

From Dayna…
Outfielder [tag]softball drills[/tag]:
1. Have the girls lined up and the first one stand with their back to you. Coach says “go” and at the same time throwing the [tag]softball[/tag] up in the air toward them (pop fly) and the girl has to turn round to find the ball immediately, track it down and catch it.
2.     Girls in a line in front of and close to the coach. Coach yells “go” and one at a time a player runs to either left or right with coach throwing a ball up and over their shoulders behind them.

From Darren…
A [tag]softball drill[/tag] that we like to have our team perform, is simply an around the horn drill. We will divide the girls up evenly and place them at all 4 bases. They then simply make throws from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, and so on. Once they have made a throw, they then run to the next base and get in the back of that line. We are just trying to get them to really concentrate on making a good, strong throw, but also catching the ball.

We will have them count out how many throws/catches they make in a row without dropping it. It is a good way to get all of the girls involved and keep them moving.
