Coming up with new ideas for [tag]fun softball drills[/tag] can be challenging.   Here’s a [tag]softball infield drill[/tag] that works well and builds strength and confidence. Fun Softball Drills

“Improve your arms” Infield Drill

In the beginning of the [tag]softball[/tag] season, NONE of my 7th graders can throw and reach from 3rd to 1st. I put two first baseman on their base, and they alternate catches.

I start the entire team (infielders and outfielders) at the mound, have them field an easy grounder and throw to first. We do this until all players get 5-10 throws. Then, we move on to second base, where each fields a grounder, throws to first, retreats to back of line. Repeat til each girl gets 5 grounders and five throws. Continue at short, then third base.

This gives the girls ample time throwing and the shorter distances at the beginning of the [tag]softball drill[/tag] builds confidence.
