I’m often asked for ideas for [tag]fun softball drills[/tag].   Here are two great [tag]softball drills[/tag] that were sent to me recently.   Keep ’em coming!Fun Softball Drills

From Gary…
The [tag]softball drill[/tag] I am sending is Pepper Plus.

4-6 people   in a group is good. Play pepper with a few twists.

If the batter misses or hits it in the air to a fielder she/he goes to the back of the fielding line. If a fielder mishandles a [tag]softball[/tag] that player goes to the back of the fielding line. The player in the front of the fielding line replaces the batter who gets a strike or flies out.

Another twist can be added when the fielder fields the ball–don’t catch it instead flip it to another player or yourself as long as the ball does not stop. Catching it or a bad flip will send that fielder to the end of the line.

It’s a lot of fun and excellent for hand eye coordination.

From Donald…
I have a simple fun way to end [tag]softball practice[/tag].   I try to do this a couple times a week if possible. I scatter everyone in the field, from fence to fence. Then I hit fly balls all over the field, make them catch the fly balls using all the softball drills we have practiced on catching flys.

I make them catch 20 flys without a miss, everyone seems to enjoy this game.
