Last week, I sent out a request for my newsletter subscribers to send in their favorite [tag]fun softball drills[/tag]. Check out this one below!
Tony’s Soft Hands Drill
Fill 1-2 dozen water balloons only to a size slightly larger than a baseball or about the size of a [tag]softball[/tag].
Have the kids line up opposite each other about 6 feet apart.
With each successful toss they should take a step back.
The object is to see how far you can toss and catch using soft hands as to not let the balloon break.
Once this [tag]softball drill[/tag] is done the players can throw the remaining water balloons at the [tag]softball coach[/tag]. Great fun on a hot day and the kids really enjoy it!
Tip: Think of a hot stove. When you touch something hot your impulse is to pull your hand back towards your body. Keep your hands out in front of you so you can react like you have touched something hot.
