From Susan…
One of my favorite [tag]softball drills[/tag] is aimed mainly at outfielders but I have all my players participate.

Players line up along the foul line in left field facing center field.   The [tag]softball coach[/tag] stands 5 feet from the first player.   The first player tosses the [tag]softball[/tag] to the coach and starts sprinting out to center field.   The coach throws a fly ball either to the left, right, in front of or behind the player.   The player must track the ball and make the catch.   Once the player has made the catch or retrieved the ball on a miss the next player tosses to the coach and the [tag]softball drill[/tag] is repeated.   You only need about 5 balls for the first 5 players in line since once a player has had his/her turn they give their ball to the next player in line without one and goes to the end of the line.

To promote some competition, your players can be divided into teams and the team making the most catches wins.
