I often receive requests for [tag]softball batting drills[/tag]. Here are a couple of [tag]softball drills[/tag] that will pay huge dividends with your team.
For batting practice, I have a hitter at the plate, and either I or a player is about halfway down the first base line. Using a [tag]softball[/tag] with different colored panels-either bought or colored in-toss the ball to the hitter. The object is to hit it to the opposite field. Once the hitter pulls the ball, her turn is over.
This keeps her concentration; she doesn’t want her turn to end! It’s a good idea to have the [tag]softball coach[/tag] or player who’s tossing the ball stand behind a screen.
When Batting: To improve tracking the ball and “Keeping Your Eye On The Ball” tell your players to point their “EYES, NOSE and CHIN” at the contact point when they hit the ball. It seems to work much better than saying “Watch the ball!”
