James sent this one to me last week. A great example of [tag]softball conditioning drills[/tag] that don’t require a coaching PhD to figure out.Softball Conditioning Drills

From James…

We learned a [tag]softball[/tag] [tag]drill[/tag] last year that combines [tag]ball handling[/tag] with [tag]conditioning[/tag]. Start with an equal number of players at each base including home.

A girl standing at home throws to first and then sprints to first. After catching the ball the girl on first turns and throws to second, then sprints to second. This continues around the bases until all the players have thrown and sprinted. You may want to start with a shorter distance for younger players. You can also reverse the direction for something different.

Coaches can time it or record the number of drops/bad throws to track improvement. Having all of the players throw and [tag]sprint[/tag] 2 and 3 times improves the conditioning aspect.
