Jeff and Roger each sent me a [tag]youth softball coaching tip[/tag] that I want to pass on to you.   They include some fresh ideas for [tag]throwing[/tag] drills.   Try them out and let me know what you think!Youth Softball Coaching Tip

From Jeff…

I did a [tag]softball[/tag] throwing [tag]drill[/tag] this season where I taped paper plates to the backstop about 6 feet off the ground.   I had the girls throw from 15ft, then from 30ft, then back to 15ft.

These are 6,7,8,9 year old girls playing with an 11 inch ball.   I was trying to get them to throw more accurately and to stop throwing a rainbow.   They loved it and asked me every practice to do it, AND it helped!

From Roger…

Have two players get on a knee without a glove about five feet apart. They will throw the ball to each other ten times. Then back them up five feet and repeat untill they need a glove.   Do this until they can not get the ball to each other in the air.   This will help with getting the ball to each other and not being scared of the ball.
