Players work on their throwing accuracy and strength. In particular, this drill helps players perfect their wrist snap, which is essential to throwing the ball powerfully and accurately.

1. Players turn the ball in their hand and wrist snap or tap it against the fence. Then make a slow- motion simulated throw without actually throwing the ball.

Coaching Tips:

  • When players finish the simulated throw, their palm should be facing down.
  • The thumb should be directly below the fingers, the ball shouldn’t be deep into the palm.
    Players should try to grip the ball across the seams for a tighter rotation and more spin.
