During the above video, you’ll learn about a softball drill called the Audible Partner Side Toss.

With this softball drill, the player has to make a decision and call out the color of the ball as it comes into her zone.

The good thing about this softball drill is that it has a number of colors on each panel of the ball.

It forces the hitter to wait until the ball comes into the strike zone. She then has to call out the color and hit it at the same time.

If you don’t have the money to buy the colored panel balls. Instead, you can call out “yes” or “no”–when the partner throws a strike, yell “yes”; when she throws a ball, yell “no.” When it’s a ball, your hitter should hold back and not try to hit the ball.

The goal is to make the hitter wait as long as possible before making contact. It forces the player to keep their eye on the ball because they have to actually see the ball as it comes into the strike zone.
