Purpose

Build strength and fast twitch response in forearms and wrists

Set Up

  • Player can stand anywhere on the field with a weighted bat.

Instructions

  1. Hold bat straight up out in front of the body, hands should be about chest high, bat should be aligned with nose.
  2. Swing the bat through the hitting zone by snapping the wrists and then following through with the swing.
  3. Work on bat lag and extension

Coaching Tips

  • Watch for good mechanics – which means elbow is in, head is still and vertical axis of rotation is maintained
